Bighorn Sheep Pick Through Denver Snow After Late Spring Storm

Bighorn sheep were spotted feeding on grass near the South Platte River in Jefferson County, Colorado, on May 21, after a late spring storm dumped five inches of snow in the area.

Larger totals were recorded in other areas, with 20 inches measured southeast of Denver at Black Forest, and more than eight inches recorded at Golden on the mountains bordering the west side of the city, the National Weather Service said.

The weather service said snow would change to rain on the plains on Tuesday, but another one to two inches of snow would fall on mountains. Credit: CPW/Jason Clay via Storyful
