Cannabis joint held aloft in French parliament

Francois-Michel Lambert on Tuesday (May 4) said legalization would make it possible to fight trafficking, create tax revenues and jobs, before brandishing a cup with a cannabis leaf on it and then pulling what appeared to be an unlit joint from it.

Richard Ferrand, president of the National Assembly, interjected and said Lambert could face a penalty fo doing so.

The stunt came one day before a multi-party parliamentary report was released advocating for marijuana legalization.
