Car Narrowly Avoids Hitting Child After Failing to Yield for School Bus

The Minnesota State Patrol urged drivers to obey the law when approaching a school bus, after footage released on May 16 showed a car narrowly avoid hitting a student from the Zumbrota-Mazeppa school district.

The video, which was filmed back in January, shows 10-year-old Ambriel Johnson crossing the road to board her bus when a car fails to slow down and almost hits her.

According to local media, the 20-year-old driver pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor. He received a $300 fine and ordered to perform community service.
