Caring Berlusconi happy to do his bit for the community

In his first public appearance since being sentenced to do community service, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has said he is glad to be given the chance to help those in need. Speaking in Rome, the 77-year-old billionaire criticised his recent conviction as unfair but said: “The Court of Milan invited me to dedicate part of my time to help people who are in need and I must say that this has even pleased me, because during my life I have always done activities to help those in need.’‘ On Tuesday Berlusconi was ordered to spend four hours a week helping the elderly in a community centre. The order did not specify where, but Italian media have reported that the centre is the Sacred Heart institute of Cesano Boscone, near Milan.
