Confused Cat in St John's Wonders Where Backyard Went

Jasper, a black cat living in St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, seemed to be confused on Wednesday, January 22, when he tried going out in his backyard but was met with walls of snow.

St John’s has been under a state of emergency since Friday, when several feet of snow fell on the city, local media reported.

Cleanup operations continued Wednesday, and grocery stores opened temporarily on Tuesday from 10 am to 6 pm, prompting long lines of residents who were told by city officials to purchase enough food for “48 hours.”

Commercial flights reportedly resumed to St John’s on Wednesday, and transportation companies were told they could also resume operations, but citizens were told to keep personal vehicles off the roads. Credit: spookybabyjasper via Storyful
