Europe migrant arrivals set new record for first half of 2015

The number of migrants fleeing war and persecution in their homelands for Europe reached a record high in the first six months of the year, according to UNHCR, the United Nation’s refugee agency.In the first six months of the year to June, a total of 137,000 people arrived in Europe, an increase of 83 percent from 2014 when 75,000 people made the crossing.
