Firefighters Make Gains Against North Carolina Fire
The Black Mountain, North Carolina, Fire Department said Wednesday morning, April 1, that a wildfire burning on the mountainside above the town was 50 percent contained. The fire broke out a day earlier and destroyed one home, forcing evacuations from the Ridgecrest area. The department asked for donations of food and other supplies for affected residents.
