Firefighters Wash Dead Fish Off Highway Left by North Carolina Floods

Firefighters used hoses to wash dead fish off Interstate 40 near Wallace, North Carolina, on September 22, after floods caused by Hurricane Florence started to recede.

The Penderlea Fire Department, which posted this video, said that the floods “allowed the fish to travel far from their natural habitat, stranding them on the interstate when waters receded.” Credit: Penderlea Fire Department via Storyful
