First human trials for HIV vaccine begin in Md.

Scientists at the University of Maryland School of Medicine announced Thursday that they're ready to being the first human trials of a new HIV vaccine. This is a milestone in the long road to find an effective HIV vaccine. This is also extremely complicated. Dr. Robert Gallo, with the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, described the vaccine as "just a protein" but different than anything that has been tried before.
