Flash Flood Washes Debris From Black Mountain Fire's Burn Scar on to Utah Highway

A flash flood warning was issued in southern Utah on Thursday, July 12, and State Route 13 in Beaver County was closed due to flooding and debris washed onto the road from a burn scar caused by the Black Mountain Fire.

The floods meant several vehicles were stuck on the highway, Utah Highway Patrol Lieutenant Todd Royce told local reporters.

The Black Mountain Fire burned 6,000 acres in Beaver County, in west central Utah, in late June and early July.
