Flooding Due to Heavy Rainfall Displaces Thousands of Refugees in Lebanon

Flooding caused by heavy rainfall in January displaced thousands of refugees living in Beqaa, Lebanon.

A storm, dubbed Norma, affected Lebanon between January 6 and 7, bringing floods and snow to several areas in the country, the Daily Star reported.

Syrian refugees and activists in Lebanon appealed to the international community and the United Nations for help, Orient News reported.

Last month, flooding in north Syria destroyed tents in 11 refugee camps and displaced 25,000 refugees, according to a report by Anadolu Agency.
