Florida Man Saves Fellow Motorists After Car Crash Near West Palm Beach

Francisco Gomez and other passersby helped save two people from a car he said was sinking into a canal after the vehicle crashed on the side of Beeline Highway in West Palm Beach, Florida, on October 11.

Gomez told local news station WPBF he saw a “water explosion” while driving down the highway and found two people trapped inside a flipped car that was starting to sink into the canal.

Gomez said he held the vehicle up by the doors so the two people, a husband and wife he said were “disoriented,” could escape, WPBF reported.

News reports said the man and woman were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for unknown injuries.

This footage, captured by Gomez’s dashcam, shows him arriving at the scene alongside several other people to try to help the vehicle’s occupants. Additional video filmed by Gomez shows local authorities giving first aid to the couple in the aftermath of the incident. Credit: Francisco Gomez via Storyful
