Fog Cloud Rolls Over Sydney's Bondi Beach

The famous views at Sydney’s Bondi Beach disappeared out of sight on Monday, December 17, as a bank of fog rolled into the tourist hotspot.

The sea fog dramatically reduced visibility on the iconic beach and, at one point, visitors standing on the shore could not see the water.

Weatherzone senior meteorologist Jacob Cronje told the Sydney Morning Herald that the weather event was unusual.

“You have the warm moist air mass over warmer than normal seas and weak winds; it’s the perfect recipe for this kind of thing but it’s not something that’s expected at this time of the day,” he said.
