Freediver Complains of 'Lack of Respect' After Spending Time in Port Phillip Bay Picking Trash Out of Water

Marine biologist and freediver Jules Casey is an enthusiastic documentarian of the diverse creatures of Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne, Australia. But she also regularly does her bit to collect plastic and other debris from the bay.

In this video, posted on August 16, Casey can be seen picking up glass bottles, candy wrappers, and plastic bags in the water.

In the video description, Casey said: “I do not want to spend my time on a dive picking up after inconsiderate people. This lack of respect for our beautiful Port Phillip Bay needs to change.”

Casey’s other videos focus on local animals such as squid, spider crabs, and cormorants. Credit: Jules Casey via Storyful
