Gills Creek Recedes in Columbia, Leaving Damage Behind

The rain has ended in South Carolina, but widespread flooding persisted on October 6. In Columbia, Gills Creek receded, as can be seen in this footage. The creek had flooded the neighborhood and surrounding businesses when flooding peaked on October 4.

Roads remained impassable in some parts of the Columbia area, local media reported, and at least five people had died since Sunday in the metro area. At least 10 people have died across South Carolina due to the floods.
