Grid Failure Causes Power Outages During Big Freeze in Texas

A systemwide failure affecting Texas’s power grid system has led to rolling power outages affecting millions across the state, as demand for power surges during the state’s coldest spell in decades.

This footage, by Emogene Lopez, shows lights out in a neighborhood covered in snow on February 15. The footage was recorded in Spring, just outside of Houston, Lopez said.
