Hangriness in Action: Brazilian Wildlife Sanctuary Shows Jaguars Before and After Dinner

Footage of jaguars fighting at the Criadouro Onca Pintada, a jaguar breeding site
in Campina Grande do Sul, Brazil, on September 26 shows that even animals can get seriously hangry.

Goska Zdziechowska captured this video and originally uploaded it to YouTube. Zdziechowska told Storyful the jaguars, Fofa and Paxa, are rescue animals who are now residents of the breeding site.

“They love each other, but every day before dinner they ‘fight’ with each other and it looks very serious, but it is kind of play,” she said. “The rest of the day they are licking each other, sleeping together.”

The video shows the hungry jaguars fighting, smacking each other with their paws, and ferociously roaring. It then cuts to the big cats post-dinner, peacefully licking each other, purring, and cuddling. Credit: Polish Dr Dolittle via Storyful
