Humane Society Rescues Dozens of Dogs and Cats From 'Carnival' Property

The Humane Society of the United States assisted in the rescue of over 50 dogs and over 30 cats in Jones County, Mississippi, from a carnival-like property.

The organization shared a video of one of the rescue cats on their YouTube page on July 19. The footage shows Alex, a cat who was found among “rusted, old cages covered in cobwebs lined a dark room in the debilitating Mississippi heat.”

According to a press release, two suspects — Mary Ellen Senne and David Senne — have been charged with aggravated animal cruelty.

In total, 89 animals were rescued from the property. As of writing, the footage has over 3,500 views on YouTube. Credit: Humane Society of the United States via Storyful
