Icy Treats Help Animals Stay Cool as Australia Battles Hottest Day on Record
Creative zookeepers at an Adelaide zoo have been helping their resident wildlife keep cool during the city’s heatwave.
Images and videos shared by the zoo on December 16 shows various animals at South Australia Zoo beating the heat with a variety of different icy treats prepared for them by zookeepers.
Footage shows animals such as a tapirs, capybara, otters, hyena, meerkats, baboons and mandrills enjoying ice blocks containing chopped fruit and vegetables.
