Kanye West performs for Houston jail inmates

Inmates at two Harris County jails in Houston were clearly moved when rapper Kanye West dropped in for a surprise concert.

Video posted by the Harris County Sherriff's office showed West and his choir performing songs from his new album "Jesus is King."

Inmates danced, cried and prayed.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez:

"You know, I'm a lifelong law enforcement officer. I started go and serve my community here in my hometown, but we need to be firm with crime. We want our community safe, everybody does, but we don't have to lose our humanity and our passion."

West is in Houston to speak at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church on Sunday.
