'Lightning-Caused' Fires Prompt New Evacuations in Northwest California

The “fast-moving” LNU Lightning Complex fire sparked hurried evacuations in northwest California early on Wednesday, August 19, local media reported.

The fire prompted “frantic” evacuations as it moved toward Vacaville in Solano County. Orders were already in place for some residents to evacuate their homes in Napa and Sonoma counties.

The series of lightning-caused fires had collectively scorched more than 32,000 acres by Tuesday, reports said. The LNU Lightning Complex included the Hennessey and Gamble fires in Napa County, as well as several other wildfires in the county. It also included at least two wildfires in Sonoma County, according to fire officials.
