Limpopo province flooded following Cyclone Eloise

Footage showed heavy rains and a damaged bridge submerged, with locals walking through flood water in South Africa’s Limpopo province.

Six people were killed in Mozambique, while the death toll from flooding in eSwatini - formerly known as Swaziland - now stands at two, according to police. Three people had been reported killed in Zimbabwe and one in Madagascar.

Ongoing rains, though lightening, threatened further floods, as the ground has already been oversaturated, South African Weather Service said.

Eloise is expected to move towards south western Botswana on Tuesday (January 26) according to the South African Weather Service, where it will cause heavy rain. More downpours are also expected in South Africa in the coming days.
