Lone Elephant Picks Up Traffic Cone at Yunnan Check Point

A lone elephant approached a checkpoint in China’s Yunnan province on July 23, according to local authorities, picking up a traffic cone with its trunk on the way.

In a post on Weibo, Pu’er government officials said the wild Asian elephant “swaggered” past the Mengkang border checkpoint on Friday.

According to a local report, this elephant has passed the checkpoint on many occasions in the past year and police evacuate the station and control traffic to prevent any potential conflict with the elephant.
