'Medically Incompetent' Woman Dragged Through Florida Courthouse
A Broward County Sheriff’s deputy was placed on restricted duty after footage emerged showing him dragging a woman, who was declared medically incompetent during a trespassing case, by her shackled ankles through a courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 23.
“I am concerned by the way the deputy handled this situation, because there were other courses of action he could have taken,” Sheriff Scott Israel said in a statement following the incident. “Internal Affairs has initiated a complete and comprehensive investigation, and the deputy has been placed on restricted duty pending the outcome.”
