Miami Takes Down Shade Tents Ahead of Tropical Storm Erika

Tropical Storm Erika, after causing 12 deaths on the Caribbean Island of Dominica and dumping rain on St. Kitts and Sint Maarten, is expected to make landfall in Florida August 31. Florida Gov. Rick Scott declared a state of emergency August 28, and city workers began taking down shade tents and other structures unable to withstand high winds. This video shows some of those operations. The storm is expected to hit the Georgia border on Wednesday. Credit: Facebook/City of Miami Government
