Midwest Braces for 'Brutally Cold' Temperatures by Midweek

The National Weather Service warned on January 27 that “brutally cold temperatures” and “potentially life threatening wind chills” were in store for Illinois and Indiana, with lowest temperatures expected on January 29-30.

Temperatures could drop as low as 40-55 below zero, the service said.
