More trouble for Malaysian Airlines

An incident after takeoff has meant more problems for another Boeing belonging to Malaysian airlines. The 737-800 was taking 166 people from Kuala Lumpur to Bangalore in India, but it never left the skies over the airport and was forced to turn back almost immediately, although the company was quick to insist there had been no danger to anyone on board. “During takeoff it suffered a tyre burst so the pilot had to circle around Kuala Lumpur, burn up the fuel and then make an attempted landing. It was a problem getting the landing gear down,” said passenger Ravi Raghovan. Once down the atmosphere in the terminal was frustration rather than fear. “It was actually very calm. It was not very rushed, it was a very smooth landing,” said passenger Jason Miranda. Meanwhile the search for flight MH370 continues. The Australian navy says its Bluefin 21 probe has now swept two-thirds of the supposed crash site without finding anything. Bluefin is due to make its ninth dive today, but for the first time since the search began the weather may hamper efforts as Tropical Cyclone Jack approaches.
