NASA's Vertical Lander Completes Test Flight

NASA conducted a free-flight test of its Morpheus vertical take-off and landing craft on April 24. The test, at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, saw the craft rise more the 800 feet into the air. It then travelled 1,300 feet before descending to make a safe landing. Sensors on board the craft allowed it to avoid hazards on the surface of its landing pad. The entire flight took only 98 seconds. Credit: YouTube/NASA Kennedy
