NYPD Officer Helps Woman Choking on Lozenge

A female motorist who was choking on a throat lozenge will be thanking her lucky stars that she was being tailed at that moment by an NYPD highway officer conducting speed checks on the Bronx River Parkway. Officer Gregory Zakoscielny stopped his patrol car behind the driver and observed her in difficulty before performing the Heimlich maneuver, removing the lozenge blocking the 49-year-old woman’s airway.
