Pianist plays concert for monkeys in Thailand
Location: Lopburi Province, Thailand
British musician Paul Barton
played the piano to hundreds of wild monkeys
(SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITISH MUSICIAN, PAUL BARTON SAYING:
"I think that I was surprised to play the piano and find they were actually eating the music as I was playing it, eating and pulling the stools to pieces. But you know this is an incredible opportunity and I wasn't going to let those things distract from the project which is to play music for these wonderful macaques."
Barton hopes to raise awareness of the monkeys' hunger
Thailand's lockdown-induced tourism hiatus
means there are fewer visitors to feed the macaques
and less funds allocated for their welfare
