Polar Bear Has Field Day During Icy New York Winter Storm

A polar bear at The Buffalo Zoo in Buffalo, New York, had the time of his life during a winter storm that saw some parts of upstate NY slammed by as much as 17 inches of snow on Sunday, January 20.

Winter storm warnings were in place for much of upstate New York, with the National Weather Service (NWS) predicting more than a foot of snow in the region and double that in some areas.

NWS Buffalo warned dangerously cold wind chills would continue through Monday.

This video shows Sakari the polar bear having a field day in the freezing conditions.

“While everyone is staying inside and keeping warm, Sakari thought it was a perfect day to roll around in the snow and go for a swim!” the zoo wrote on Facebook. Credit: The Buffalo Zoo via Storyful
