Heavy snow fell across Elk River, Minnesota, on Monday, February 17, ahead of a cold front that was forecasted to sweep through the area later in the week.
According to the National Weather Service, heavy bands of snow were falling across the Twin Cities region, with visibility reduced to less than a quarter-mile. Winter storm warnings were in effect and the region could receive up to 6 inches of snow during this storm.
