Shear Idiocy: Man Sentenced for Stealing Sheep After Police Find Videos on His Phone
A Sheffield man who stole a sheep in rural Derbyshire in August 2018 has been sentenced to a 12-month community order after police found videos of the incident on his phone.
The videos were also posted to Snapchat by the man, 23-year-old Ali El-Aridi, who was also found guilty of possessing “extreme pornographic images.”
After taking the sheep, El-Aridi drove it to Sheffield and released it in a suburban area.
In a statement, Derbyshire Police said the theft came to the attention of their Rural Crime Team after local witnesses saw the incident and posted to their Facebook pages.
