Snow Fire Sparks to Life Near Palm Springs, California, Forcing Evacuations

An evacuation order was put in place for residents around Snow Creek village near Palm Springs, California, on Thursday evening, September 18, after a wildfire, dubbed the Snow Fire, sparked to life.

According to Riverside County Fire Department, the fires had burned 1,200 acres and was 0 percent contained by 11 pm on Thursday evening. The fire was first reported at 2:38 pm that afternoon, according to the department.
