Snowstorm Temporarily Grounds Flights at Glasgow Airport

A snowstorm blanketed Scotland’s Glasgow Airport on the morning of Tuesday, January 22, grounding flights for about an hour and a half before airport crews cleared the runway.

The airport tweeted at 9:22 am that operations had been temporarily suspended to clear heavy snow from the runway. At 10:42 am, the airport said operations had resumed.

Traveler Maria Francké shot this footage of the snowfall aboard her plane at 10:08 am. She said her flight took off at 11:15 am.
