'Somewhere Over the Rainbow': Ohio Man Alters Classic Ballad to Serenade Donkey

An Ohio man serenaded a young donkey at his farm in Marengo with a rendition of Over the Rainbow, with the lyrics altered to be about donkeys.

Footage shared by Dawn Fagan on Tuesday, October 20, shows her husband, Dean, singing his adaptation of the famous 1939 ballad by Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg to a donkey called Ivy cradled in his arms.

Ivy previously appeared in a video that went viral in which Dean sang the Burt Bacharach song What the World Needs Now Is Love. Writing on Instagram, Dawn said that Ivy’s no longer a “lap donkey.”

The Fagans run Jackass Junction, a 67-acre donkey sanctuary where they care for rescued farm animals. Dawn manages their social media pages and regularly posts footage of the farm’s residents. Credit: @mrdonkers via Storyful
