The first stage of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket began a wild spin on its way to landing on Wednesday, December 5, missing its target and making a water landing.
SpaceX founder Elon Musk tweeted that a “grid fin hydraulic pump stalled” but the rocket, making its second flight, appeared undamaged.
The Dragon cargo capsule launched by the rocket on Wednesday, however, continued on its way with supplies for the International Space Station. The station’s CanadaArm is expected to bring the capsule aboard early Saturday morning.
