'Stubborn' Donkeys Rescued From Floodwaters on New South Wales Southern Highlands

Workers from the State Emergency Service (SES) helped pull four “stubborn” donkeys from a flooded creek in the New South Wales Southern Highlands on July 27.

Flooding rain was brought to the area by a low pressure system off Australia’s east coast, which carried dangerous wind and rain conditions to much of the state’s coastline.

“Today our flood rescue team was called to rescue four donkeys stranded by rising floodwater. Braving the freezing cold water and the stubborn animals all four were brought to safety in a timely manner,” the Wingecarribee SES unit wrote on Facebook.

“The east coast low has brought consistent rain for nearly 24 hours soaking most parts of the Wingecarribee, Fortunately, there have only been a few requests for assistance.”
