A man suspected of setting fire to the Democratic Party headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, was arrested by local authorities on Wednesday, July 29, Phoenix Police said.
The suspect, identified by police as Matthew Egler, 29, was a former volunteer at the headquarters who was recently banned, according to police. Police said Egler “posted information on social media linking him to the crime and threatening additional violence.” He was arrested and charged with Arson of an Occupied Structure.
Authorities were able to link a vehicle seen in security camera footage from the incident to a member of Egler’s family, reports said.
