Thunder Rumbles as Snowstorm Dumps Several Inches on Utah's Park City

Thundersnow rumbled in the skies over Park City, Utah, as a storm dumped nine inches of new snow on the Wasatch Mountains ski resort overnight into Friday, December 13, according to park officials.

This footage captured, on Kim Fischer’s security camera late on Thursday, shows snowy scenes and a bright flash of lightning followed by the sound of thunder.

Over the 24 hours up to 5.25 am, a foot of snow fell on Park City, the resort said.

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City reported bigger snowfall at nearby ski resorts at higher elevation, including 20 inches at Brighton Crest and 16 inches in Alta.

The weather service warned that winter storm conditions would continue across much of western Utah and southwest Wyoming into Saturday. Credit: Kim Fischer via Storyful
