Tornado Touches Down in Houston Suburb as Tropical Depression Imelda Moves Inland

Tornadoes and floods were reported in the Houston area on September 18, as Tropical Depression Imelda churned over southeastern Texas.

The Sheriff of Harris County, Ed Gonzalez, said that a tornado touched down near the eastern Houston suburb of Highlands, destroying a house. The resident was inside at the time, he said. Witnesses recorded an apparent tornado near Mont Belvieu, farther east.

This footage, taken near Goose Creek Memorial High School, according to the uploader, shows a funnel cloud that witnesses described as having touched down.
