Tropical Storm Erika Slams Caribbean

Tropical storm Erika slammed the Caribbean on Thursday, August 27, killing at least four people in Dominica and triggering widespread flooding and mudslides, according to Associated Press. Around 80 percent of Dominicans were without electricity or water.

Schools, businesses and government offices were closed throughout the region as the storm moved northwest toward Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the Dominican Republic.
