Vehicles Struggle Through Submerged Streets as Storm Hanna Floods Monterrey

The residents of Monterrey, Mexico, were urged to stay at home on July 26 as local authorities issued a red alert due to heavy rainfall and flash flooding brought on by tropical depression Hanna.

This video, shot by local politician Clara Luz Flores, shows vehicles struggling to navigate flooded streets in Escobedo, part of the Monterrey metropolitan area.

The governor of the state of Nueva Leon, Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, urged residents to stay at home to avoid road accidents and other hazards in the city as a result of the extreme weather, according to reports.
