Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro 'attacked' by Twitter
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has denounced what he calls a “massive attack” by Twitter.
In a televised speech Maduro said that more than 6,000 of his 1.4 million followers were removed from his Twitter account as part of a campaign to destabilise his government.
He said the alleged action should motivate his supporters to gain more Twitter followers.
Venezuelan Communications Minister Delcy Rodriguez alleged that Twitter had taken away nearly 6,600 of Maduro’s followers “in 10 minutes.”
“This is really alarming. We are now in the process of filing a claim against the company and we demand an explanation,” Rodriguez said.
