Volunteers Collect Donations for South Carolina Flooding Victims

On October 8, Atlanta residents filled a truck with supplies to be taken to South Carolina to be distributed to the victims of recent floods. Blankets, food and water were among the items donated.

Historic rain – up to two feet in the Charleston region – triggered widespread flooding in South Carolina. At least 17 people have died from the flooding, and hundreds of people have been evacuated from their homes. The rain stopped falling earlier this week, but flooding persists. Dams also have breached, which has contributed to the flooding, especially in the Columbia area. Credit: Instagram/Clifton R. Chestnut
