Weekend's Winter Storm Pulls Away from US East Coast

The winter storm that dumped as much 34 inches of snow over parts of the southeast – leaving at least four dead, snarling traffic, and shutting down power – moved off the US East Coast on Tuesday morning, December 11.

With the clouds gone and sun shining, the broad swath of snow left behind was visible from NOAA’s GOES-East, spreading from southwestern North Carolina up into east central Virginia. Credit: NOAA/CIRA/RAMMB via Storyful
