Woman, Police Officer Rescued From Texas Flood Waters

Firefighters performed two high-water rescues in Sachse, Texas, on May 29. The first involved a woman who was trapped in her vehicle near a flooded Rowlett Creek, according to local media. The woman was able to get onto the roof of her car, but firefighters had to rescue her with a hovercraft.

About 90 minutes later and one mile away, a Sachse Police Department vehicle became stranded in the floodwaters. Firefighters could not rescue him with the hovercraft, so the officer was rescued using a helicopter.
