The View star Alyssa Farah Griffin might soon be changing from her "ridiculous" Christmas hat to a full-on MAGA cap if Donald Trump completes one key thing during his second-term presidency, the 35-year-old revealed on Monday's show.

After the cohosts got into a heated debate about "panic" surrounding Trump's Jan. 20 inauguration, Griffin and the panel turned the episode's Hot Topics discussion toward a recent photo of Trump and First Lady Jill Biden chatting at a recent event.

"The world was watching this election, waiting with bated breath to know what was going to happen, to know that there's a peaceful transition of power that, despite my warnings and others' about my concerns about Donald Trump — which are still very real — that America is going to move forward, and that the First Lady is going to be cordial to him on the world stage," Griffin observed.

She went on to say that she's "not going to be apocalyptic" about Trump's ascension to power, and that she's committed to the philosophy of "not making every single thing a five-alarm fire" in terms of her coverage of his actions. The former White House communications staffer — who worked under Mike Pence and Trump before resigning and speaking out against the latter — then shocked her colleagues with her next admission.

"If he does good, if he gets the Israeli hostages out, I promise I will wear a MAGA hat for one day on the show and say, 'Thank you for doing it!'" Griffin revealed, with legal expert and former prosecutor Sunny Hostin urging, "Please don't do that."

Griffin joked that Hostin will "knock it right off my head" before finishing her point: "You have to be able to cheer for wins when they happen and call out, relentlessly, the wrongdoing."

Around 251 hostages were captured in Israel on Oct. 7. 2023 during the Hamas-led attacks that also left 1,200 people dead, according to Israeli officials. Of those hostages, 117 people have returned home and at least 60 are believed to still be alive. During the past 14 months, Israel has killed more than 44,500 Palestinians in military attacks, according to Gaza health officials.

In the weeks since the Nov. 5 election, Griffin has defended conservative principles in the aftermath, and has regularly called out Hostin for chalking up Vice President Kamala Harris' loss to racism and misogyny in the country.
