Viewers concerned over The Weeknd’s bandaged and bruised appearance at AMAs

Whether he was performing on “Saturday Night Live,” chit-chatting with late night television hosts, or just attending awards shows, The Weeknd has been looking a little worse for wear this year. But during Sunday’s American Music Awards, he looked extra battered and bruised while accepting multiple awards.

The bandages and bruises left many viewers confused and concerned, with one person tweeting, “Did The Weeknd get in a fight or completely reconstruct his face? I can’t tell.” However his real fans knew that it was all part of the artistic direction for his “After Hours” album and music videos. At the rate he is looking worse and worse, by the time he performs at the upcoming Super Bowl he might be in a full-body cast.
