An evacuation order for the western Saskatchewan village of Marengo has been lifted after a large fire at a grain elevator overnight.
The surrounding rural municipality of Milton was placed under a state of emergency, but that has also been lifted.
The Kindersley Fire Department was called to the blaze around 11 p.m. CST Thursday. The Eatonia, Kerrobert and Oyen fire departments also responded.
Emergency and support vehicles were still on scene as of early Friday afternoon. According to a news release, the fire has been contained but crews need room to restore services.
Power had been out in the village, but it has been restored, SaskPower said on Twitter.
A representative from the RM of Milton said there were no injuries they were aware of.
Red Cross assistance was provided for those who asked while the evacuation order was in place, but others found their own accommodation.
There is no firm estimate of the amount of property damage or what exactly was damaged.
Marengo is 225 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon, close to the Saskatchewan-Alberta border.
